Florida: Discretionary Sales Surtax Extended

  • Nov 24, 2015 | Gail Cole

A Florida local surtax has been extended

The 1% discretionary sales surtax in Lake County, Florida, had been set to expire on December 31, 2017. However, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners has approved an extension of the surtax. As a result, the combined state and local sales and use tax rate for Lake County remains 7% through December 31, 2032. Additional information.

The most effective and efficient way to handle sales tax rate changes is to implement sales tax software like Avalara AvaTax.
