Georgia Fuel Tax Rate Change, January 2016

Any motor fuel distributor licensed in Georgia must collect prepaid local tax on all motor fuel sold for highway use. The prepaid local tax rate is based on the average retail sales price, which is adjusted periodically by the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Prepaid local tax average retail sales prices (per gallon) in effect from January 1, 2016 through July 1, 2016 are as follows:
- Gasoline: $1.78
- Diesel (clear/dyed): $2.011
- Aviation gasoline: $3.00
- P.G. $1.954
- Special fuel (includes CNG): $1.717
