Illinois Prepaid Sales Tax for Motor Fuel, January 2016


 Illinois: January 2016 prepaid fuel tax rates announced.

Prepaid sales tax rates for motor fuel in Illinois are subject to change twice each year, on January 1 and again on July 1.

The prepaid sales tax rates for motor fuel will drop a bit during the period January 1, 2016 – June 30, 2016:

  • Gasohol/biodiesel: 10 cents per gallon (down from 11 cents)
  • Gasoline/other motor fuels: 13 cents per gallon (down from 14 cents)
