Internet Retailers to Collect Vermont Sales Tax

Vermont: Internet sales tax starts December 1, 2015.

Vermont’s click-through nexus law takes effect today, December 1, 2015. As a result, many Internet sellers are now required to collect and remit Vermont sales tax for the first time. Affected retailers are those that contract to advertise on the websites of Vermont-based businesses or individuals.

If you sell online and have customers in Vermont, you could now be required to collect and remit Vermont sales tax. Read the Statement of Vermont Department of Taxes on Vermont Click Through Nexus Law for additional information.

Automated sales tax software (SaaS) simplifies compliance for multi-state sellers who collect and remit in multiple tax jurisdictions. See how it works.
