California Tax Relief Available Due to Gas Leak

 Tax relief is available for California taxpayers affected by the Aliso Canyon gas leak.

The methane pouring from the ongoing gas leak in Aliso Canyon, California, has created a State of Emergency and displaced thousands of residents. As a result, business owners and fee payers adversely affected by the leak are eligible for tax relief.

Filing extensions are available, as is relief from penalties and/or interest on some taxes and fees, including but not limited to the following:

  • Alcoholic beverage tax
  • Cigarette and tobacco product excise taxes
  • Fuel taxes
  • Sales and use taxes
