California to Reduce Fuel Tax, July 2016

 California fuel excise tax rates to decrease on July 1, 2016.

The California Board of Equalization has voted to decrease the excise tax rate for gasoline. Effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, the California excise tax rate for gasoline will be $0.278 per gallon.

The current rate of $0.30 per gallon took effect on July 1, 2015. Additional information, including an explanation of how excise tax revenue is distributed, is available on the California BOE website.
