Utah Fuel Tax Rate Change, July 2016

 New fuel sales tax rates take effect in Utah, July 1, 2016.

Utah’s fuel tax rate for compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen used to power motor vehicles will increase, effective July 1, 2016.

New fuel tax rates

  • Compressed natural gas: 12.5 cents per gasoline gallon equivalent
  • Liquefied natural gas: 12.5 cents per diesel gallon equivalent
  • Hydrogen used to power motor vehicles: 12.5 cents per GGE
