  • Aug 18, 2016 | Gail Cole

Annexations often spark sales tax rate changes.

Numerous cities in the State of Washington are growing, annexing neighboring areas and thereby expanding their boundaries. Beginning October 1, 2016, sales and use tax rates in the annexed areas may change.

The following cities are imposing annexations:

  • George, Grant County
  • Colfax, Whitman County
  • Leavenworth, Chelan County (several annexations)
  • Moses Lake, Grant County
  • Spokane, Spokane County
  • Redmond, King County
  • Pasco, Franklin County
