Texas sales tax rate changes, July 2018

Several sales and use tax rate changes took effect in Texas on July 1, 2018.

City rate changes

  • In Hickory Creek (Denton County), the local rate dropped to 1.75%, for a combined state and local rate of 8%
  • The local rate in Lowry Crossing (Collin County) dropped to 1.5% for a combined rate of 8.25%

Special purpose district rate changes

  • Crosswinds at South Lake Special Improvement District imposed a new 1.5% local sales and use tax
  • Lowry Crossing Municipal Development District imposed a new local sales and use tax rate of 0.5%.
