We are building cloud-based tax compliance solutions to handle every transaction in the world. Nearly every time you make a purchase, physical or digital, there is an accompanying unique and nuanced tax compliance calculation.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced VP, Financial Operations to join our team.

Required Qualifications:  
  • 15+ years of experience in a lead financial operations role for a company with annual revenues of at least $200 million – experience with SaaS, subscription, or other recurring revenue businesses extremely desirable
  • Thorough understanding of order management, billing, collection, and cash application procedures – ideally in a high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to implement quality assurance measures into financial operations
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major billing or ERP system – preferably NetSuite
  • Track record for meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with the application of internal controls in a financial operations environment
  • Aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Service oriented with a collaborative approach toward problem-solving
  • Proficient using Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related area
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred
Job Responsibilities:  

Order Management

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Order Management team
  • Resolve issues that prevent orders from being processed
  • Document order administration policies, procedures, and controls
  • Ensure that order management policies and procedures are consistently enforced
  • Define procedures for making exceptions to order management policies and procedures
  • Respond to order inquiries from external and internal constituents
  • Perform reviews and complete other month-end activities related to order management
  • Implement quality assurance measures to detect potential order entry errors
  • Make changes to the order entry process to strengthen internal controls
  • Develop processes for introducing new products and services
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the CRM system
  • Validate the integrity of sales order (bookings) data and make corrections, as necessary

Billing Operations

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Billing Operations team
  • Ensure that customers receive accurate and timely invoices
  • Design, implement, and enforce consistent billing processes and procedures
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the billing system
  • Respond to customers inquiries and resolve billing issues in a timely manner
  • Oversee the timely completion of month-end close activities related to billing
  • Make changes that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and/or strengthen internal controls
  • Implement quality assurance measures that reduce billing errors
  • Document billing procedures and controls
  • Develop billing processes for new products and services, including acquired businesses
  • Prepare operational reports and analyses


  • Provide leadership and direction to the Collections team
  • Resolve disputes and other issues that prevent or delay customer payments
  • Make recommendations to improve collections policies, processes and procedures
  • Increase accounts receivable turnover
  • Actively engage in collection efforts with high risk accounts
  • Keep internal stakeholders informed about collection activities
  • Authorize payment plans, account suspensions, and account cancellations
  • Review and approve customer refund requests and account write-offs
  • Provide input during month-end reviews to assess the collectability of accounts
  • Document collections policies and procedures

Accounts Receivable

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Receivable team
  • Implement cost effective payment processing solutions
  • Manage the daily application payments, including ACH, credit card, and eChecks
  • Authorize customer refunds
  • Document accounts receivable procedures and controls
  • Make changes that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and/or strengthen internal controls


  • Provide leadership and direction to the Purchasing team
  • Maintain the purchasing policy
  • Make ongoing improvements to purchasing processes
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, payment, and other contractual terms with vendors
  • Develop preferred vendor sources for frequently used goods or services
  • Pursue new vendor relationships to realize cost savings
  • Document purchasing policies and procedures

Accounts Payable

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Payable team
  • Approve weekly payment runs
  • Document accounts payable policies and procedures
  • Make changes that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and/or strengthen internal controls

International Financial Operations

  • Provide leadership and direction to the international finance teams
  • Facilitate training and development opportunities for international finance teams
  • Oversee global financial operations across the quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles
  • Define standard processes to ensure consistent service by the “shared services” team
  • Directly manage the Brazil Finance team
  • Implement close-related procedures for Brazil to ensure results comply with U.S. GAAP
  • Define company-wide reporting processes, including required submission packages
  • Conduct detailed accounting reviews with international subsidiaries
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the integrity of financial results
  • Standardize policies, procedures and systems across international subsidiaries
  • Manage the revenue recognition processes for international subsidiaries


  • Provide leadership and direction to the NetSuite team
  • Oversee the development and ongoing support of all processes in NetSuite
  • Prioritize user needs across procure-to-pay, quote-to-cash, and record-to-report
  • Ensure that best practices are followed for security, controls, and change management
  • Facilitate the integration of NetSuite with other systems
  • Make changes that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and/or strengthen internal controls


  • Lead the team implementing a new global quote-to-cash system
  • Direct efforts to define expected outcomes, use cases, schedule, consulting needs, and budget
  • Ensure that the schedule and budget is met
  • Provide high-level design input for critical items
  • Activity resolve issues and roadblocks
