Avalara is looking for a Senior Prospect Marketing Manager who will be responsible for setting the strategy and developing acquisition programs and end-to-end prospect journeys for B2B audiences.

In your role, you will understand key compliance needs and pain points for specific industries and audiences, identify relevant trends that affect compliance (i.e., regulatory or business environment changes), and understand how Avalara products and services create solutions solve customer's tax compliance pain points. Through this expertise, you will develop effective problem awareness messaging, partner with content marketing to create full funnel content to guide prospects through awareness to consideration to purchase, and work with channel teams to develop effective campaigns.

Job Duties:

  • Develop data-driven strategies to drive new prospect sales for business audiences.

  • Create go-to-market programs specifically for prospects to support new products and features from the Avalara product portfolio.

  • Design integrated campaigns leveraging multiple marketing channels such as account-based marketing, direct mail, social, email, webinars, and in-person events to increase prospect sales

  • Develop launch plans for our new Avalara products and features

  • Partner with our content and creative teams to deliver compelling and thought leadership content, drive product and solution awareness.

  • Work closely with our sales team by delivering customer intelligence, sales enablement tools and resources, and provide expertise and programs to help them identify opportunities to sell. Own the feedback loop between sales and marketing.

  • Optimize the marketing funnel by reviewing results, identify root cause for areas of concern, and recommending and executing priorities to optimize performance.

  • Develop evergreen, automated marketing programs that can support customers' lifecycle. Ensure timely and relevant communications are delivered to the correct customer segments based on their product lifecycle and interaction with Avalara.

  • Create campaign strategy, campaign calendar, and budget designed to deliver the outcomes of the plan. Coordinate with other stakeholders to achieve agreement on the strategy and channel plans.

  • Partner with various stakeholders in the marketing organization to execute campaigns, including product marketing, channel optimization, content development, and brand teams.

  • Partner with content teams (internal and external) to ensure content supports the overall buyer journey by stage.

  • Identify and work with 3rd party providers as needed for content and channel execution of marketing programs.

  • Partner with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement teams to ensure messaging and training is optimal gets insights from sales to update strategies and messaging.

  • Partner with partner and customer marketing teams to ensure coordination of efforts

  • Review funnel performance metrics and determine strategies to optimize performance

  • Qualifications:

  • Excellent grasp of B2B marketing, B2B selling concepts and the sales pipeline.

  • 8+ years B2B marketing experience with a focus on B2B SaaS

  • Prior experience in prospect and demand generation is a must

  • Proven experience building and managing ABM campaigns

  • Proven experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's degree. Degree in business, marketing or communications preferred. MBA a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong writing ability.

  • Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g., marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua), and analytic tools (e.g. Tableau) a plus.
