Bainbridge Island, WA – July 12, 2013 – Avalara, the market leading provider of sales tax and compliance automation services in the cloud, today announced the appointment of Peter Horadan as its executive vice president of engineering. Horadan has served as a technology executive for private and publicly traded companies, most recently as senior vice president of engineering and client services for Scout Analytics, Inc.
Horadan’s extensive background includes leadership positions in engineering, operations, and client services, as well as track record of creating industry-leading commercial software products. Avalara Founder and CEO Scott McFarlane said Horadan’s skills and experience will serve the company well as it continues its rapid growth and broadens its range of compliance solutions to businesses of all sizes.
“Since day one we believed the time was coming when businesses of all sizes would automate their indirect taxes, and we’re building a world-class leadership team to support this assumption,” said McFarlane. “We welcome Peter to the Avalara team, and look forward to his contributions as we continue to grow the company and set a new standard for compliance automation.”
