It’s one thing to be told a certain solution or software works and quite another to experience it in real time within your environment. Developers want to see code. And Avalara’s new AvaTax API demo shows it to them. In the easy-to-navigate UI, you can calculate tax in real time and see the results in side-by-side request and response screens in seven different programming languages. Better yet, it can be done in seconds, in just four clicks.

Start by choosing a programming language from the drop-down menu.

The code will be instantly visible in the Request screen. Now you’re ready to test the technology.

Step 1: Where are you shipping the item(s)?

Select the item(s) ship-to destination from the prepopulated address list.

Step 2: What products or services were purchased?

Check the box next to the items that need to have tax calculated.

Step 3: Where is the product shipping from?

Select the item(s) origin from the prepopulated address list.

You can see the code change in the Request screen as you progress through the steps.

Step 4: Hit the Submit button and the correct code appears in the Response screen.

Any taxes owed will also be clearly line-itemed in the Result box at the top of the screen.

Feel free to experiment with different combinations of products and shipping addresses to see how the AvaTax API handles those tax changes.

Try the demo.

Once you’ve tried a few revs, take the next step and explore a free AvaTax API trial
