Belarus to raise VAT from 20% to 22% in 2014

A new draft tax law is set to raise the Belorussian VAT rate 2% to 22% on the 1 January 2013.

The consumption tax rise is to fund a cut to the corporation tax rate - from 18% to 12%.  The aim is to help local businesses, and boost the export market which delivers much needed foreign currency earnings.
