Japan reduced Consumption Tax rate

Japan has confirmed that it still intends to raise its Consumption Tax from 8% to 10% on 1 April 2017.

It will though introduce a reduced VAT rate on essentials to help soften the blow of the rise on the less well off. This will be 8%, and levied on basic foodstuffs and beverages
