Online VAT filing in Luxembourg 2013

From 1 January 2013, all companies will be obliged to file their Luxembourg VAT returns through e-filing.
The change is part of plans to bring the current Luxembourg VAT rules and administrative procedures into line with the EU VAT Directives. This includes helping to simplify the administrative burden for both local companies and non-resident VAT returns.
Certain companies have already been required to carry out electronic VAT filings since the 2010 VAT package. This change now brings in all resident companies and non-resident VAT registered companies. In addition to VAT filings, companies will also be required to submit their European Sales Listings online.
Companies looking to upload their Luxembourg VAT returns can use the eTVA platform, which is available online and can take Excel feeds.
