What you'll do:

We're looking for an experienced marketing manager to join our Partner Marketing team. The Partner Marketing team's mission is to create an exceptional Avalara experience for partners, supporting them with the right engagement and marketing resources as they start, run, and scale their business with us.

Working closely with Avalara's Partner Marketing team, Marketing Technology Group (MTG), Partner Management team and Audience Managers, you will lead the partner campaign strategy for our Through Channel Marketing Automation platform (TCMA). You'll gain a deep understanding of the needs of both internal and external stakeholders, document requirements, support the selection of the tool stack and work with the implementation team to ensure the execution meets or exceeds our team and partner's needs. As a Campaign Manager you will work closely with Audience Managers to understand, coordinate, and project manage all of the deliverables, timelines, and milestones associated with our through partner campaigns.

Being a critical member of Avalara's Partner Marketing operations team, you will play an essential role in further defining and enhancing our partner marketing tools (inclusive of campaigns) and long- term automation strategy:


  • Needs Assessment – Utilizing data and research methods, you'll gain a deep understanding of the needs of Avalara's partners and partner marketing team to define our platform capabilities, requirements and use cases. Develop a keen understanding of the various components necessary in integrated campaigns.
  • Process Mindset - Identify where tools and automation can help make our partners and partner marketing team more efficient through requirements gathering, process documentation and process automation. Identify content campaigns that align to our partners' business and marketing capabilities. Outline the end-to-end Campaign delivery process; apply a disciplined approach to the development and execution of partner marketing campaigns. Work with, and advise, Audience Managers on the partner marketing content necessary to the timely and effective execution of the campaigns.
  • Iterative Approach – Ongoing assessment of what is working and areas of opportunity to iteratively improve
  • Strategic Direction – Through a deep understanding of the needs of partners and partner marketers, you will drive the long-term vision for our partner marketing portal and campaign content. You will ensure a superior partner experience and drive growth through the consumption of campaign content, use of automation and self-service tools
  • Business Mindset – Ability to translate partner/business/marketing end-user requirements into solution requirements
  • Marketing Innovation – Keep abreast of the latest trends in marketing to and through partners
  • Drive for results – Execute relentlessly to deliver desired business outcomes
  • Cross-functional Leadership - Collaborate with Avalara's Marketing Technology Group on the execution of new tool implementations and enhancements. Collaborate with the Audience Managers on the content required for partner marketing.

    You will have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Technology or related field
  • 7+ years of B2B Marketing with tools and automation software experience
  • 7+ years of Partner Marketing campaign content and execution
  • Experience with partner portals, marketing automation and project tracking software a plus
  • High-tech / SaaS industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated digital marketing success
  • Career success in large global brands is a plus
  • Strong relationship/team building and cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
